Only Cheeks

This drama is still in progress. I just happened to be catching up on my Google Reader and decided this was too good to pass up.

Jack Jr and Cheeks were playing Mario Kart on the Wii. Apparently Cheeks got mad when she came in 2nd (I have no idea where she gets that competitiveness) and swung the controller around, which then hit Jack Jr in the nose.

Obviously Jack Jr is crying. I would be crying if that happened to me. Still, he wasn't crying louder than Cheeks who started this scream/cry like it was her that got hit in the nose w/ a Wii controller. She then proceeded to go to her room and slam the door (screaming all the while).

Only Cheeks could cry like that (you know, like a finger was cut off) when she was the one that inflicted the pain on someone else.

When I first started writing this post, I had no intention of taking a picture. It was just too good of an opportunity to pass up. I mean, she was already screaming, right? If my amusement makes me a bad parent, I'm a bad parent.

Click away and be amused. She's adorable.

I'm embarrassed to admit, but I think I acted exactly like that one more than one occasion as a kid. If I'm relating correctly here to my own experiences... (1) she's mad at herself for having lost her temper like that because she knows it was ridiculous and uncalled for, but she just couldn't help it, and (2) she's ashamed of herself for having lashed out at her brother for her own frustrations that probably had nothing (or very little) to do with him. Poor guy.

I LURVE her Care Bear sheets. =)

I remember when I was younger, my little sister and I did that too... Ask Holly, she'll know what I'm talking about :)

My older daughter does that too. It's like she can't take the fact that the younger girl might get attention from getting hit. wtf? lol

Great picture - I would have taken one too! :)

What a cutie. It warms my heart that Carebears are still around.

I think it was a combination of both, but more #1. She really gets embarrassed easily.

I can imagine your little sister doing that. LOL

Yup. That too.

Carebears abound in our house. I think we have one in every color.
